Designed for personnel who are responsible for safe working practices and required to
identify possible confined spaces
Course Content:
• Awareness of Confined Space legislation
• Ability to recognise and identify a confined space
• Understanding of the hazards associated with confined spaces
• Awareness of Health & Hygiene aspects of the confined space environment
• Recognition of Confined Spaces
• Dangers associated with these areas
• Human Respiratory system, exposure to low oxygen
• Gas detection equipment in hazardous areas
• Personal protective equipment i.e. Harnesses, tripods, man riding winches an intro
• Escape breathing apparatus – an intro
• IDLH atmospheres inc common hazardous gasses
• PPE
• ATEX standard
• Confined space ventilation and purging an overview
• Permit to work
• Safe systems of work for entry into confined spaces
• Methods of communication
• Manning levels
